The 2024 Yarn Tour
Tennessee is blessed to have such a rich community of yarn and fiber-focused shops - no two shops are alike or carry the exact same products. Each shop has its own focus, style, and personality. What makes our yarn shops really shine, though, is you! You all make our fiber community vibrant and lively. To celebrate the rich and varied tapestry that our fiber community embodies, we chose the theme "Uniquely Ewe" for 2024. We hope you enjoyed visiting yarn shops that are as wonderful and unique as "ewe" are!
2024 Participating Shops
In 2024, we were so excited to expand the Great Tennessee Yarn Tour to include 5 new shops! 3 of these were located in Middle Tennessee, giving us the opportunity to share the Yarn Tour with a whole new part of Tennessee. In total, the 2024 Yarn Tour featured 18 of Tennessee's finest yarn and fiber destinations, stretching from Kingston Springs to Chattanooga to Kingsport to Johnson City and everywhere in between! Thank you to all of our 2024 Shops for making this year's Yarn Tour truly GREAT!

Pattern Designers
For the 2024 Yarn Tour, we invited local, Tennessee-based fiber enthusiasts to submit their original ideas in a pattern contest. We received many great submissions and selected 6 patterns for the 2024 Pattern Book. Thank you to our 2024 Designers for your hard work, consideration, and creativity!
"Uniquely Ewe" Amigurumi
Amanda Ray
Amanda is located in Burns, TN. She has been designing patterns since 2021 and has several best-selling amigurumi patterns on Etsy. While amigurumi is her main focus, she likes to throw different crochet techniques into her patterns such as the granny butterfly you'll see on her "Uniquely Ewe" pattern.
"Windows on East Tennessee" Scarf
Janice Krauser
Janice has been doing needlecrafts for as long as she can remember. Originally from southern Florida, she now lives in Maryville, TN. She enjoys knitting and crocheting at her local yarn shop and spending time with their Wednesday Knitting Group
"Pop of Color" Scarf
Julia Insalaco
Julia Insalaco is a lifelong learner of everything fiber who enjoys sharing her love of fiber arts with anyone who wants to embark on their own fiber journey. Over the years, she has enjoyed crocheting, sewing, embroidery, cross-stitching, and a little quilting. Since discovering the welcoming fiber family at the Clinch River Yarn Company, she has since added knitting, weaving, spinning, and Tunisian Crochet to her fiber interests.
"Spiral" Tam
Karen pyne
Karen Pyne first learned to knit while in high school. Throughout her adult years she taught herself to do crewel embroidery, crochet, and counted cross stitch, but knitting was always the favored work.

Karen resides near the French Broad River in Sevier County, TN. She has three children, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
"Murrell's Row" Striped Hat
Ouisi hamilton
Ouisi (“weezy”) Hamilton is co-president of the Chattanooga Yarncrafters stitching group. Their stitching journey started in 2003 with knitting, but the craft creep is real: in addition to learning to crochet, they do a little yarn dyeing and have recently taken up handspinning with spindles and a wheel. You can connect with them by joining the CY Meetup group and attending a stitch-in, or by reaching out to OuisiH on Ravelry.
"Yarn Tour Sampler" Sock
Teresa Brittain
Teresa has taken classes in knitting, spinning, dyeing, and weaving at yarn shops, retreats, and at John C. Campbell Folk School. She currently owns three weaving looms; two spinning wheels; lifetime supplies of yarn, unspun fiber, and dyes; and too many knitting needles and crochet hooks to count. She and her husband live in north Knoxville, where they are renovating an older home.

Putting on an event like the Great Tennessee Yarn Tour is truly a team effort. From monthly meetings to late night emails to working with pattern designers to reaching out to vendors for donations, the Yarn Tour is a success because of the hard work and dedication of a small team of incredible ladies.
