Appalachian Yarn Company

Appalachian Yarn Company is the on-site farm shop at Stewart Heritage Farm. Home to a small herd of alpacas, Stewart Heritage Farm produces small-batch alpaca roving, yarn, and finished goods available in 100 percent alpaca to natural blends; in natural tones and brilliant hand-dyed colors. In addition to luxury alpaca yarns from the farm, we also carry an assortment of other natural fiber yarns, crochet and knitting notions, and gifts.   • August 17 & 18: Pop-up shop with Sheep 2 Stitch! Nicole will be bringing her mobile yarn shop featuring Italian yarns, hand-spun yarns, and indie-dyed yarns!

  • Local Eats: Lisa's Country Kitchen in Jefferson City. The Stand at Pierce's Produce has sandwiches, paninis, smoothies, and snacks. They have picnic tables if you want to eat there...or better, pick up your lunch and have a picnic here at the farm!  The Stand is only 4 miles from the farm on Hwy 92.  They are closed Sundays.

The Bees Knits Yarn Shop

The Bee's Knits Yarn Shop is Knoxville's in-person connection to fiber arts. We welcome all who endeavor to create things, at any level of experience, and encourage those who are not yet makers to try something new.   • Local Eats: Likewise Coffee is about 2 blocks away. Downtown Knoxville is just over a mile away and has a ton of great coffee, food, and fun activities to do while you are in town. Feel free to ask us while you are here to recommend some of our faves depending on what you are in the mood for!

  • Nearby Lodging: We are located on the outskirts of the Parkridge Neighborhood, which is a safe, quiet neighborhood that has a handful of AirBnb options.

Clinch River Yarn Company opened in July 2009 as a means of sharing our passion for handwork and stitchery. What we didn't realize at the time was that our local community had SO much potential and such an appetite for fiber arts! Our "Fiber Tribe" IS what make us special! CRYC has cultivated a collaborative community of knitters, crocheters, weavers and spinners - and we're proud of our community!   • Setting: We are located in Clinton - a small town located along the Clinch River, about 25 miles outside of Knoxville. You can find us on the main highway that runs through town, and we are less than half of a mile from Historic Downtown Clinton, known for wonderful small businesses - especially antiques!

  • Parking: CRYC offers ample parking - 3 spaces in front and 7 spaces in our rear parking area, located behind the building. Handicap Parking: 2 spots available, 1 in front and 1 in the carport. If stairs are a challenge for you, please use our carport entrance!

Hickory Bluff Farms

Our farm store at Hickory Bluff Farms carries yarn from our 31 alpacas who are onsite. A wide variety of natural and hand dyed colors of alpaca yarn awaits your visit. But there is much more than just yarn for knitting, crocheting, or weaving! Handcrafted items from scarves to rugs and blankets, socks, shawls, and lots more! Plus for the felter or spinner, lots of roving in natural or dyed colors. Yes, it's all alpaca all the time at Hickory Bluff Farms, and we've been at this for 25 years!

Smoky Mountain Spinnery

For over 24 years Smoky Mountain Spinnery has been creating a center for fiber arts in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Equipment and supplies for spinning, weaving, knitting, crocketing, rug hooking, felting and dyeing are all a part of Smoky Mountain Spinnery. Visit Miss Ruby as she weaves on an antique floor loom and spend time browsing through over 2500 square feet of fiber arts inspiration.

  • Parking: Winery Square has an open parking lot where you can park for free. There are are also free parking spaces behind the shop; these are best if you need accessible parking spaces.

Sunshine Weaving and Fiber Arts

Sunshine Weaving and Fiber Arts is a friendly, welcoming shop whose goal is to provide a community for fiber artists of all levels. We offer support through classes, fun, casual gatherings and community outreach to support and encourage each other. From complete beginners to the experienced, we want you to have access to the supplies, equipment, and support needed to create beautiful fiber art. We carry yarn from several different companies, but we also have locally sourced wool and alpaca yarn and roving. Not only do we have knitting and crochet supplies, but we carry looms, spinning wheels and spinning fiber from Ashford, Schacht, and Kromski.

Terri's Yarns & Crafts

Terri's Yarns & Crafts has yarn, needles and hooks, and patterns for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels. We carry a line of patterns designed by the owner, Ava Lynne Green. Bring a project to work on during our regular shop hours or one of our evening meeting times. Ava is always happy to answer any questions about patterns. Two Roots is a family-owned sustainable farm with a herd of 50 plus alpacas and an artisan fiber mill. We have a wide variety of yarns and rovings, both 100% alpaca and alpaca blends, felting fibers, kits and core spun yarn. We also have many finished items such as alpaca woven blankets and rugs, socks, hats, headbands, baby items, scarves,gloves and shawls.
