Marielle Alexander
Marielle Alexander is a Chattanooga-based knitwear designer and full-time ENL (English as a New Language) Teacher. She first learned to knit and crochet in elementary school while navigating chronic illness, and has since carried her love of fiber arts into her adult life to now serve as an outlet of regulation, creativity, and cultural tradition.
Marielle’s work is deeply rooted in storytelling, often highlighting elements of heritage, culture, and language to support and uplift her students. She enjoys designing accessible, meaningful pieces that honor her ancestors, such as the Bonnie Socks.

While she creates a range of garments and accessories, Marielle is especially passionate about sock knitting and always has a pair “on the needles.” When she is not teaching or designing, Marielle can be found sharing her love of knitting on her podcast, learning new languages, reading fantasy novels, or sipping tea somewhere sunny.
