2024 Featured Destination #2: Two Roots Alpacas and Fiber Mill

Every day leading up to the Tour, we're going to feature a different 2024 Yarn Tour Destination on the blog! Read about each shop in their own words, take a virtual tour, and get excited for your fiber adventure! Our next stop is Two Roots Alpacas and Fiber Mill, located near Greeneville, TN.

Two Roots is a family-owned sustainable farm with a herd of 50 plus alpacas and an artisan fiber mill. We have a wide variety of yarns and rovings, both 100% alpaca and alpaca blends, felting fibers, kits and core spun yarn. We also have many finished items such as alpaca woven blankets and rugs, socks, hats, headbands, baby items, scarves, gloves and shawls. Shop in the farm store, meet the alpacas and view the fiber mill during your Great Tennessee Yarn Tour visit. Drawings will be held throughout the Tour for door prizes in our store for Tour participants only.

During your visit, you'll have the unique opportunity to intimately connect with our alpacas, learning about their well-being, shearing process, and the meticulous care we provide for their health. Explore the enchanting world of alpaca fiber as we guide you through the journey from fleece to finished products. Marvel at the transformation in our fiber mill, where craftsmanship meets technology, creating exquisite socks, hats, yarn, and roving.

Exclusively for the GTYT participants - Gradient Fusion Yarn line. Shearing took place in April, the processing of the fiber started in May, and the beautiful yarns will be available to you during the GTYT. We selected our best animals to create a color line of fingering weight yarn with our featured fingering weight being a fusion of white, beige and light fawn for a great neutral. So experience the full circle from our hay production, the animals and the fiber processing!!!!

Yarn Tour Specials:

Sundays - Fiberfest Sundays filled with additional local fiber farmers vendors and craftsmen (they will be here from noon till 4ish and will be weather permitting)
Mondays - Roving will be featured for buy 2 and get one free Tuesdays
Educational Tuesdays - we will be offering two presentations during the day: Fiber Farming and A Visual of Designing Fiber Products
Wednesdays - Wine down Wednesdays from 4 pm till 6 pm, need I say more?
Thursdays - Rug Yarn bumps will be featured at 30% off
Fridays - Fantastic Fiber Friday by enjoying coffee and muffins on the porch and enjoy the alpacas (including the two crias, Lulu and Woody, born in May).

Saturday - Special Saturdays we will have a special pricing on selected yarns.
