The Great Tennessee Yarn Tour would like to highlight a very special member of our team: Ava Lynne Green. Ava is the owner of Terri's Yarns & Crafts in Sevierville, TN. She is also the guiding force behind our Pattern Contest and subsequent "Official Pattern Book." As a pattern designer, artist, and author of multiple craft-focused books, Ava is more than equipped to guide our pattern contest winners and help them turn their design ideas into pattern realities.

Ava's work as leader of our Pattern Team is vital to the success of the Great Tennessee Yarn Tour. When we first came up with the idea of having a pattern contest, our team was excited about using it as a way to highlight Tennessee talent and provide designers at any stage a chance to share their original ideas. However, we did not fully grasp how much goes into crafting a well-written pattern. Ava agreed to join our team and has been amazing and educating us ever since. Thanks to her, we can offer our Pattern Contest winners support every step of the way!
She works tirelessly to review instructions and patterns, stay in contact with the designers (whether in-person meetings, phone calls, or emails), discuss ideas with the rest of the GTYT team, test designs, calculate gauge and stitch counts, and quadruple-check everything before it goes to print. Once upon a time, our team proposed the idea of "Let's make a Pattern Book!" - and she has brought that Pattern Book to life (2 years in a row now!) and made sure the patterns are of the highest quality possible. I cannot express enough how grateful we are for her expertise, intelligence, and ingenuity.

If you find yourself near Sevierville, be sure to stop by her shop, Terri's Yarns & Crafts, and say Hello! Terri's Yarns has been in business since 1976, and Ava has been at the helm for the past 39 years! Here you will find supplies for knitting and crochet, as well as cross-stitching, painting, and locally-made art and gift items.
Ava has written 3 books: Knitted Blocks, Crocheted Blocks, and You Can...Begin to Crochet!. You can finder her books and patterns on Amazon, Ravelry, and her website.
If you're looking for ways to use your mini-skeins from the Yarn Tour, check out her pattern, "Mosaic Circles Scarf."
