Today's Featured Designer is Jennifer Myrick, who designed the Stranded But Loving It hat.
Meet Jennifer

Jennifer Myrick is a knitwear designer and alumna of the University of Tennessee, loving life with her non-knitting husband in the scenic mountain town of Gatlinburg. She learned to knit as a child and became completely obsessed over 20 years ago. When she’s not crafting cozy pieces, Jennifer loves traveling and exploring local yarn shops around the world. From Rhinebeck to Rome, Jennifer’s yarn adventures fuel her designs, which are as diverse and eclectic as her travels.
Jennifer is the devoted mother to two adult children and a joyful Labrador
Retriever Barley. She and her husband are the owners of Myrick’s Jewelry, a
charming shop specializing in fine jewelry, fun accessories, and vintage treasures.
But Jennifer’s heart isn’t just in her knitwear designs and jewelry business – she’s
also an area coordinator of Food for Kids, a division of Second Harvest, helping
fight child hunger in her community.
Behind the Design: Stranded But Loving It
Stranded But Loving It is a vibrant, stranded colorwork beanie that caters to both colorwork beginners and seasoned knitters. Drawing inspiration from the classic
Fair Isle technique, this hat incorporates stunning chevron motifs that also echo
the bold, dynamic designs of the Italian fashion house Missoni. The pattern begins
with a cozy ribbed brim and flows into a rich, textured body worked seamlessly in
the round. Its playful colorwork offers endless possibilities, making it the perfect
canvas for experimenting with mini-skeins. Whether you're mixing and matching
your favorite hues or curating a collection of mini-skeins, this hat promises to be
as much fun to knit as it is to wear. Let your creativity run wild with this
multicolored masterpiece!
