Today we are learning about our final Featured Destination: Walther Handmade

Walther Handmade opened in the Fall of 2023 in Historic Downtown Harriman. We strive to share the "joy of making" with our community by providing access to high-quality yarns, tools, notions and other craft supplies in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We welcome fiber enthusiasts of all kinds and skill-levels!

We have a growing selection of natural-fiber yarns, many of which are made in the USA using American fibers. We have a full array of knitting needles, crochet hooks, and notions, as well as books and patterns for both knitting and crochet. Our craft kits are great for beginners or anyone looking for a cute, quick project. While you're here, be sure to browse our unique gifts and accessories!


Yarn Tour Specials

We'll have many new yarns and gift items fresh in stock - be the first to get your hands on new yarn!

  • Shop beautiful, hand-dyed yarn at our Pop-Up Shop with Zeoli Yarns on Saturdays, August 5 & 12 from 11 AM - 3 PM.

  • Sign up to win our shop door-prizes. We'll be drawing Fridays August 11, 18, 25. Names will be chosen from Tourists who visited the store during the week leading up to that Friday! Must be a Yarn Tour Participant to be eligible!

  • Join us for our first Birthday on August 27 (also the last day of the Yarn Tour)! We'll be celebrating from 1 PM - 5 PM with cupcakes and other yarnie-fun.

  • We're hosting the Triple Grand Prize Giveaway on August 27. More details coming soon!

Yarn Tour Hours

During the Yarn Tour, Walther Handmade will be open the following hours:


Monday ~ Saturday: 10 AM - 5 PM

Sunday: Closed


Special Hours: Bring your WIP and join us for Sit'n'Stitch on August 9, 11, & 23rd. Shop will be open till 8PM these days!

Getting There

Walther Handmade is located at: 316 Trenton Street, Harriman, TN 37748.

  • From Knoxville: Take I-40 West to Exit 350. Go north on TN-29 until there's a T in the road. Turn right onto S. Roane Street (US-27) and continue for 1.2 miles. *Upon entering downtown Harriman, turn right onto Walden Street, drive for 1 block, and then turn right onto Trenton Street.

  • From Crossville: Take I-40 East to Exit 347. Turn right onto US-27 N (S Roane St) and drive 3.0 miles toward Harriman. Follow directions above starting with *.

  • From Oak Ridge: Head west on N Illinois Ave (TN-62). TN-62 becomes TN-61/Harriman Highway. Continue for about 20 miles. Upon entering downtown Harriman, turn left onto Walden Street, drive for 1 block, and then turn right onto Trenton Street.

Trenton Street is just 1 block Southeast of the main thoroughfare, Roane Street, and much quieter. Ample parking is available - feel free to park right in front of the shop or in the public parking lot across the street!
