Today's Featured Designer is Nickie Fox, who designed Pop & Go Scarf.
Meet Nickie

Nickie Fox is a creative individual who has been crocheting since she was eight. Nickie lives in Vonore, where she is a pastor, but teaches in Sevierville. Crochet is not only a method of relaxation for her; it allows her to pass on the love of crochet to others. As a pastor, she starts prayer shawl groups in each church where she serves. She fosters the use of fiber arts in these groups as blessings to others by making prayer shawls, lapghans, and baby blankets, as well as hats and scarves for veterans.
There are many stitches that Nickie likes to use, such as the V-stitch or C2C, but the bobble stitch is her favorite go-to crochet stitch that she uses in interesting ways to add texture to her creations. You can find her patterns on her Esty shop or Ravelry under her designer name Wayfaring Crocheter.
Behind the Design: Pop & Go Scarf
This year’s theme called for an adventure, and this pattern was just that! I wanted to incorporate two of my favorite crochet stitches to create a textured crochet project. The corner-to-corner stitch combines basic crochet stitches for a more advanced look. The bobble stitch creates a fun texture that reminds me of the popular popping mats. Combining these stitches with the fun colors of the tour mini skeins takes this pattern to another level.
This fantastic pattern is just what you need for any adventure. It is lightweight and stylish enough for that quick getaway from the chaos we call life, whether getting away to a quiet spot on the beach or just the swing in the backyard.
The corner-to-corner pattern gives it a wonderful diagonal stripe. I love the projects where you can tell your Yarn Tour adventure story through the mini skeins you add to it. This is just that type of project.
Are you ready for your crochet adventure? With this scarf, the possibilities are endless. The scarf can be made longer by extending the pattern. Or use a heavier weight yarns to make it for those colder winter months. Let the adventure begin!
Keep up with Nickie
