A Lot In A Little Space
On a heavily traveled road through Sevierville, TN, you will find a small shop with a big heart. Started in 1976 by a retired couple from Michigan looking to fulfill a dream of owning a craft store and sharing the love of making things, Terri's Yarns & Crafts rapidly became a place to go for supplies and help for all types of craft and needlework projects.
While the selection changes as customer's tastes change (remember plaster craft and macrame?), yarn has always been a part of Terri's. Ava, the current owner, started teaching knitting and crochet classes before buying the shop in 1986. The next step was to write patterns for customers and then magazines and book publishers. Now Ava continues to design for the shop and to help other independent designers with their patterns.
Terri's has craft paints, canvases, brushes and drawing supplies for the artist. The needlework aisle has cross stitch, needlepoint and plastic canvas. Around the shop you will find paintings and photographs by local artists as well as ready to go aprons and project bags.
Customers are welcome to squish the selection of yarns from Universal Yarns, King Cole Yarns, Patons, and other companies. Come in with a project in mind and we will help you find the yarn that you need. Find a yarn that you can't live without? We'll help you decide on a pattern. Bring someone along; the husband's chair is waiting.
Mountain Shades is the store's line of hand dyed yarns. The colors are inspired by the plants and scenery of the Smoky Mountains. Lots of blues, pinks, greens and yellow!
Stop by Terri's Yarns & Crafts and see what we have. You'll find something different, we guarantee! We look forward to meeting you!
